It appears that Gov. Bobby Jindal wants to more publicly recognize his Indian heritage in his first term. The Levee has discovered an addendum written in Sanskrit to the agenda of this month’s three-week special legislative session called to deal specifically with ethics reforms that features a strangely worded list of initiatives titled, “Governor Jindal’s 100-Day-Plan to Change Jindalooziana for the Better.”
The best way to be taken advantage of by any politician is to not pay attention.
New Orleans police have several suspects in the ongoing disappearance of WWL radio personality Garland Robinette, The Levee has learned.
For two years, many residents have been frustrated in attempts to garner Mayor Ray Nagin’s attention regarding life-threatening issues including violent crime, affordable housing, health care and most every issue of any urban area. It seems the city’s homeless have found the single way to turn the mayor’s head toward a plight. You have to flip him off.
It's said that 1979, when New Orleans police went on strike, also produced "the best Mardi Gras ever." The Levee's Bud Faust remembers why.

From the Breach
Republican David Vitter, who surprised fellow conservatives by becoming an early supporter of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, said he would support the GOP nominee but refused to make an endorsement before the Louisiana primary. Acknowledging that McCain, like Giuliani, has had problems winning over conservatives, Vitter said the Arizona senator "needs to reach out very directly and address some of the big issues on these folks' minds and my mind," citing immigration, lingerie, campaign finance reform, hookers, and the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts.
